Peru's 6.7% economic increase

This was in last month's newspapers, and sets good economic prospect for the year 2006.
According to Farid Mattuk, head of the INEI (National Institute of Statistics and Information), there has been an increase on the PBI (GNP) during the year 2005. He stated that the private sector increased more than the population.. this is attributed to an increase in consumer behavior this past year.
This consumer increase (70% of 6.7% PBI) in the private sector, demostrates that there is more production in both agricultural and manufactured products in Peru. Along with the production increase, there have been more autos sold, more credits approved/issued and more sales in both department stores and shops. This is a step closer in achieving economic stability and more foreign investing in Peru.
